A bit of a departure from Gillian’s usual paintings, this exhibition is filled with the bold colours and expressive mark making we’d expect but with a twist.
The paintings in the 2022 exhibition Drive to Abstraction have been fed by her sketchbook work – tiny fragments of her sketchbook pages have inspired her huge canvases, wooden panels and tiny cameos – bursting with colour in oils, pastels & mixed media.
Gillian’s sketchbooks accompany the exhibition so feel free to have a rummage through and if you’re feeling inspired, join one of the accompanying workshops & exhibition walk & talks.
