Jack Sutton – ‘Freckfest’ Prize Winner
" I'm a full-time artist from Kilmarnock and my work is inspired by both the natural and built environment.
I have a passion for history as well as art and have developed my trade through visiting castles and keeps across the country and capturing them, generally, in monochrome.
Having recently closed my inaugural one-man show at Gallery 2, Kilmarnock, I have returned to work on a mixture of commissions, heritage projects and drawings for wedding stationery.

Maggie Henry – 'Scotland’s Artists' Prize Winner
Maggie Henry was born in Ayrshire and educated at Stirling and Glasgow Universities. She was a practicing solicitor until she retired from law to concentrate on raising her family. While home-educating her children she rediscovered her own childhood love of painting and drawing and established a small business creating art and craft cards based on her own paintings. Working originally in watercolour florals, pastel portraits and still-life she attended Glasgow School of Art and on completion of the course she held the first solo exhibition of her work. She currently exhibits throughout the year in a number of local galleries and venues. Her most recent work has developed and grown from an early commission to produce a series of book illustrations comprising black and white line drawings. By building colour into these and working in a mixture of watercolour, acrylic and ink she has developed a range of graffito and other techniques to produce gently peaceful modern portrayals of Scottish and Irish scenes in her own unique style.

Andy Warnock – ‘Buckreddan Care Centre’ Prize Winner
"Originally from Glasgow I moved to Ayrshire in 1972 and worked in Community Education Services until I retired. I normally enjoy painting landscapes preferably of the Lake District and local views within Ayrshire.
I was given my first set of oil paints when I was 9 years of age and have painted on and off throughout my life as time, work commitments and other interests allowed.
My aims in landscape painting are to continue to improve my technique to tackle the challenges of painting light, develop the three dimensional nature of recession and continue to explore the mixing skills of the colour palette I now use.
I am a member of New Cunningham Art Club in Saltcoats and exhibit in a couple of Open Exhibitions in Ayrshire each year."
Keith Salmon – ‘Gallery 2’ Prize Winner
Based in Scotland since 1998, Keith Salmon is a professional artist working from his studio at WASPS Courtyard Studios in Irvine. Born in Essex in 1959, he studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic between 1979 and 1986.
A keen hill-walker, Keith’s work tries to capture something of what it is like to get away from the roads and into the beautiful, wild and sometimes remote Scottish landscape.
Keith is currently working in collaboration with Ayrshire sound engineer Graham Byron to create new landscape paintings and soundscapes for an exhibition at the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine. The exhibition will be called, ‘Painting with Sound – Short walks along the West Coast of Scotland’ and it will open on 14th October 2023.
Julie Linton-Millar BA (Hons) – ‘Financial Services Scotland’ Prize Winner
I am an Ayrshire artist and a member of Troon Art Club.
I find inspiration from many things but mainly the natural world with animals in particular. With subject matter ranging from domestic pets to wildlife and birds. The play of light on a subject, an expression or particular composition are all elements that appeal to me. In my animal portraiture I strive to capture the eyes which are 'the windows to the soul'.
