Nathan Coley Exhibition

Dick Institute 19/09/2017 - 23/12/2017 Times: Tu/We 10-6 Thu 1-8 Fr/Sat 10-4

Glasgow-based artist Nathan Coley is one of Britain’s best-known artists, having been shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2007, and having exhibited widely in the UK and Europe with both gallery-based and publicly-situated artworks. His practice focuses on how political and religious ideologies come to shape and determine our built environment.

For this solo exhibition of newly commissioned work for the Dick Institute's Main Gallery, Coley has produced a site-specific sculptural installation in response to the architectural and social context of the building. Here, the work explores ideologies through language and how they come to be interpreted over time according to different locations, contexts and personal perspectives.
