Harbour Arts Centre Thursday 18 Jan– Friday 2Mar
Nordic House was first unveiled in July 2015 at the Storytelling Centre on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Exploring the links between Scotland and the Nordic nations, it showcases wild Arctic seascapes, Icelandic lava fields, Denmark’s oldest allotment gardens, women fishing on the Baltic, and a subsidence threatened Swedish mining town. The exhibition’s Director, award winning journalist, commentator and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch, is a great admirer of the Nordic way of life.
“As I have travelled around the Nordic nations looking for insights about their politics and ways of life, I’ve been hugely impressed by their easy relationship with nature and the way that is represented in art. This exhibition is just a small selection – but I think these artworks from five northern seafaring nations will speak to most Scots.”
